Spending and Tax Corruption
Corruption takes many forms.
Apparently, liberals believe that only the average citizen should pay taxes not the political elite. So we have a tax cheat as Secretary of the Treasury (Timothy Geithner), a disgraced former Senate Majority leader (Daschle) and now Rep. Charlie Rangel. Furthermore, we have Rep. Maxine Waters ensuring that her husbands bank is taken care of by the TARP bill. Finally, we have members of the Rules Committee, including Jared Polis, in lockstep with the Democratic Congressional Leadership that the 2011 budget can be deemed passed so that members of Congress can avoid going on record as voting for or against spending. As a result, we have yet more out of control government spending without accountability.
Paul Ryan (R-Wisc.) puts it well: “Facing a record deficit and a tidal wave of debt, House Democrats decided it was politically inconvenient to put forward a budget and account for their fiscal recklessness. With no priorities and no restraints, the spending, taxing, and borrowing will continue unchecked for the coming fiscal year. The so-called budget enforcement resolution enforces no budget, but instead provides a green light for the Appropriators to continue spending, exacerbating our looming fiscal crisis.” For more on the 2011 $1.1 Trillion Faux Budget, please go to this link: http://www.humanevents.com/article.php?id=37893.
Polis brazen agreement that ObamaCare and the 2011 Budget can be deemed passed without a recorded Congressional vote is proof that he has already been poisoned at the Washington trough. We need a representative who holds to the highest standards, not someone who is already cutting ethical corners in his first term.
